What exactly am I aiming for? Two choices. Which to pick? Both are very similar, yet very different. I don't know what to pick.

Then again. If I don't excel this term. I won't have a choice, would I? Both paths will be barricaded.

I need to reach my goals. I don't want to have to narrow down my choices AGAIN. I haven't even really picked yet. I'm still rocking the boat back and forth. I NEED TO DELIVER. If I don't person that would be most disappointed would be myself. I need this. I need this bad.

I think I can. I hope I can. I dare not be sure.

Back in KL.

Feel sick and tired.

Have been working from Monday till Friday.
Truly, my holiday was really only the previous Sunday, yesterday and today.

Did not really spend time with the family.

Did not enjoy my holiday at all. And now it's 3 weeks to go till my trials. And 4 weeks until I go back again.

Honestly I hate coming back here. It's just not home, you know?

Have to get used to living here all over again.

At least I had some nice cabin crew to talk to just now. And a comfortable seat on the A330. =)

I haven't been updating lately have I? Haha.

A chain of common tests are on the way. Well the chain has already started. I had my MATH one yesterday it was horrible, I tell you. Never before have I felt so stupid in the exam hall. SERIOUSLY.

Nuff said bout that. I will work extra hard for my BIOLOGY which is next week, and CHEMISTRY which is week after next. PHYSICS, I have no idea when it will be. ESL no test. XP

Oh I am gonna have a Moral presentation next week. Moral assignment due next week. Moral test next week. O.O

Am gonna die of stress next week. ='(

SOOO I will update as soon as I get the time. XD

Kuching in 3 weeks! OMG am very happy can't wait.

My Two Cents

Recently the government announced that the teaching of Mathematics and Science be reverted to being taught in the mother tongues of Malay, Chinese and Tamil.

Well in my opinion, this decision is a decision too rash, made too hastily, possibly with an ulterior motive.

Indeed the Malay language is our national language. As a student I never regretted learning it. In fact, I am proud that I was able to master it. The teaching of Mathematics and Science was taught to me in English since 2003. In fact, I answered my Mathematics and Science for UPSR in English with virtually no problems. I learnt these two subjects in English throughout my secondary years. I, for one have experienced learning these two subjects in TWO languages, and believe me, for many of us it is easier in English.

In Form 4 when Mathematics became General Mathematics and Additional Mathematics, and when Science branched into Physics, Chemistry and Biology, I discovered the vast differences between terms used when taught in English, and the terms used when taught in Malay. Progressing to college was not a major problem because when I was in Forms 4 and 5, I had already learnt all the terms in English, and in college, we learn it in English as well.

I cannot imagine learning General Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Malay and then going on to college to discover that many terms are unfamiliar. I believe the need to translate in-head would be terribly time-consuming and a major, major headache. Why create all this trouble.

Six years is a period of time too short to make such a drastic decision. Why not do further research on its progression? Why not wait a little longer? Why not make sure the educators are capable of their job? Most of these teachers have graduated from university, studying their majors in English. Those who cannot cope with teaching in English should be sent for courses, reeducated, instead of just dismissing that the teaching of Mathematics and Science in English is not beneficial.

For one, I have always believed that what we studied for English was very much insufficient. My alma mater had, and still does, include its own improvements to the syllabus. In lower secondary I was educated with the Malaysian syllabus, as well as the Singaporean syllabus. Both were taught side by side, including our own Literature texts, selected by our teachers. We did not merely follow what was prescribed by our government. English has been neglected for very long. We Malaysians want to emulate developed nations. We want to progress. But with this decision, aren't we digressing instead?

After a few FAILED attempts to watch Transformers : Revenge Of The Fallen, we (Am, PW, Jon and I) finally managed to watch it yesterday at TGV Sunway Pyramid. =P

Previously we went but no seats...yesterday we decided on the C row (farthest row back left), although it is quite near the screen.

Our show was about to start and immediately after we got the tickets we RAN to Cinema 2 LOL. Our show was at 3.

CH, MW, BL and his Rihanna and YumYum watched the same movie at 4.30.

OK after watching it...I have to say...BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR SO FAR! Hehehehe.

I won't put any spoilers here don't worry but. OK I'm resisting. =P

Oh the preview they put of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was GOOD I so want to watch it now. G.I. Joe's preview looked good too.

Kar Heong and afterwards

What's Kar Heong you might ask.

It's a place in SS14 serving up some really great Ipoh chicken rice.

From Taylor's, it takes about...say 7 minutes to get there. Involves using an overhead bridge to get from SS15 to SS14.

Food serves up really really fast. THAT I like. XD

Me and Guo Liang shared a 2-person portion of roasted chicken. We also had IPOH TAUGEH (beansprouts) yummmm the taugeh very different from the usual; it's really plump and crunchy. XD XD XD

That day I did not have rice with my chicken. I had the Ipoh Sa Hor Fun or Kueh Tiaw la. REALLY good very worth it's value of RM2.

Here's Guo Liang, very pleased by the meal. We were all very hungry, having not eaten breakfast.

Speaking of ESL presentations, I had mine today and yay now I'm so happy it's over I think I did okay lar. Hehe.

New Beginnings

Went to IMU Bukit Jalil with Elaine, Diana and Christine today.

Twas a long journey there by train. Took us about an hour...

Brought around the pleasantly cold, air-conditioned campus by Ickes Tan, who happens to be a Kuchingite who did his foundation in Taylor's.

Visited the facilities, including the library, medical museum (there was a pair of Siamese embryos, the REAL thing!), and the facilities for DENTISTRY which are quite amazing.

The visit was very inspiring and has augmented my interest in dentistry.

I will apply very soon, and hopefully I will be called for an interview.

Till then, I have a busy week ahead of me, jam-packed with presentations, a deadline, and a practical test. Goodbye.

EXAMS ARE OVER! woohoo!

OK OK very very outdated stuff. Haha.

I love Biology very very the interesting. This was...three weeks back? SO LONG AGO. Some surface area to volume (SA/V) ratio experiment where we used phenolphtalein agar to test the rate of diffusion into the agar block.

IN SHORT! Pink cubes becoming clear colourless cubes with like pink inside very very nice haha. Can't really see it in the photo though but it's really cool in real life! Hehe.

Ms Angelene our ESL teacher is leaving. =( To the States. For good.

SO we got her this humongous card seriously it's super huge.

And we all wrote in it. Well this photo was before it was filled. Hehe.

OK MID YEAR IS OVER which is great. I am like super tired from all the studying. The last paper was Chemistry OH MY GOD so much to write my hand and arm is like hurting now CAN YOU IMAGINE TWO BOOKLETS IN TWO HOURS O.O I swear my hand was like wanting to stop but cannot stop I even held my pee...XD

SO after exams we went to Sakae for lunch (very late) it was like 2 plus plus then only we start eating. OMG can you imagine how hungry I was having not eaten since six in the morning? No time to eat during the short break today needed to study Chemistry. Coz you can never be sufficiently prepared for Chem...difficult paper but I finished! XD

After Sakae we went to watch MOVIE! Night in the Museum 2 VERY NICE MOVIE something like the first but BETTER! GO WATCH! Haha.

I am like losing all my energy now...SUPER TIRED.

Anyways Wun Yhee got the scholarship from JPA so she's leaving us for good as well...=(

OH MY GOD it's friggin hot here. It was reported that it was 36 DEGREES CELCIUS in Klang yesterday! Klang's not far from Subang okay so yeah it's about the same hotness here. It's like. You can feel the air is stagnant. And moist. AND HOT. Uggh. Thank God my air cooler keeps me cool (well better than nothing) at night.

IT RAINED this morning but NO USE still very very hot. Pengsan...

The feeling has finally settled in. The bitter bitter fact that you're gone.

I never wanted this to happen. It's so tragic, so sudden, that I refused to accept the fact that you're gone. That night it happened, I was so terrified. I did not want to believe the news brought to me. I prayed so hard that you would be alright; that you would be safe. Unfortunately you were already offered a place in Heaven.

You were always kind, accepting, forgiving, and very much helpful. You never said no to helping people. In fact, you were the most helpful person I know. No one will ever replace what you were.

I got to know you a lot better when we were in KL. You were always comforting; you always kept an eye out for all of us here. You were concerned about every one.

I remember the time when we learnt driving together. When you would drive me home in Ah Soon's Kancil. When you taught me how to park, go up the hill. You did that all willingly. You wanted me to improve.

I remember the time you were so tired you slept in Pin Kee (in the afternoon) because of the adventure you had the night before, and how we all looked at you and laughed.

I regret not spending more time with you. I regret it so so much.

I was reluctant to visit you last night at first, because I didn't want to accept the fact that you're gone. But in the end I did, because I had to see you for the last time.

I miss you terribly Aaron. I really do. Please come back. We all love you. We will always do.

You were the best guy in the world. May you rest in peace.

Wei SAM quite tough one leh actually. So many assignments projects tests presentations. Pengsan...

A supremely stressful week has just passed. I have a few days to slack a little before I need to complete MORE projects...all important, as SAM is 50% internal, meaning your own teachers give you half of your final mark. O.O

SAM drains people out so much quite many people doze off during class. Lol. A lot of people get less sleep trying to complete their projects lor.

ANYHOO, VJ Utt was at Taylor's last Thursday. XD The first remotely famous person I've ever met. I'm quite sad haha.

The commotion was terrible when he went up to talk. Hehe. Later he had a photo session where people actually had to REGISTER and line up to take a pic with him...LOL of course I din go lor.

He came to launch The Body Shop HIV campaign, along with some Hitz.FM and My FM people.

AND there were photo opportunities with Adam C and Jin from Hitz.FM.
